Hi Zubair,
I did this upgrade some years ago. At that time we are running ACS
Appliance version 3.3 and upgraded to ACS 4.2 in some box.
We did the upgrade trough an additional machine. The main steps was the
following:
1) Install a new windows server and ACS 3.3 trial version
2) Synchronize the database of new server with the production ACS
3) Proceed the upgrade to ACS 4.2 trial on temporary server
4) Do extensive consistency tests on the upgraded database
5) Synchronize the upgraded ACS (trial server) with your new server.
We did this process because was mandatory reimage the ACS Applience and
we didnt find one official procedure to upgrade the database.
I suppose that this procedure is not supported officially by Cisco.
Regards,
Kratz
