The GroupStudy list server ran out of disk space and thus shutdown the
mailing list. I guess it occurred on Monday some time but I have been
getting reports of people being unable to post for at least the week
prior. I really want to thank the people who contacted me about
GroupStudy having problems. I really do not spend as much time on the
list as I should and when things go down, I may not realize it. The
list should (may) be operational.
Now is a good opportunity to ask for help. Is anyone interested in
taking over GroupStudy or at least helping out please send me a
private message. Before you volunteer realize the job will require a
lot of Linux, PHP, MySQL, and Perl knowledge. An understanding of
sendmail or postfix will also really help. GroupStudy is older than
Google. Most of the software was written by myself 10+ years ago. So
don't expect an easy web interface where management consist of simply
clicking a button.
The service really needs an overhaul. I have been thinking about
using Drupal for the next version of GroupStudy so someone with a
familiarity in Drupal would also be nice.
Sorry for the inconvenience of having the site down all week! If you
are having problems posting to the list, again please send me a
private message.
Take care,
Paul Borghese
