The config below looks to be from an ASA. If so, the "syntax" is correct, if
your public IP address is the 172.x.

solution for accessing the published server IP

what would be the configuration if the server
inside and I want them to

This is the configuration if it is on
the DMZ,

255.255.255.255

static (dmz,inside) 172.20.1.10 10.10.10.10 netmask
255.255.255.255
