Difference between administrative weight and autoroute announce

Hi All

I got confused between the administrative weight and autoroute announce
metric. AFAIK, administrative weight is configured on physical interface.
it is used to overide the IGP metric that is anounced in TE advertisements
.i.e; TE tunnel can be established across a path that is not the shortest
path to reach TE tunnel tail end(in simple words total cost will be the
metric of TE) . However i feel similar kind of functionality is achieved by
autoroute announce metric as well, as it changes the metric to reach the
TE tunnel tailend.

Help me out if i am missing something on this.
