John,
I would say in typical Cisco fashion, it depends. If your company is
flexible, you like the work and the pay isn't horrible, you might want
to stick it out. 50-60% increase in pay is pretty sweet though, but
they could potentially work you like a dog. (Always on call,
60hrs+/week) You might need to take a step back and eval what you
really want. Keep in the rat race making more money, or using your
clout at your current place to work from home, flexible work
agreements, stock options, etc.
Chasing money is good to a point, but there's a price of freedom,
flexiblity, etc. I took a minor pay increase (9%) when I got to my
current job and honestly I would gladly go right back to where I was
because of the culture, environment.
I would recommend checking out 4 Hour Work Week and Rich Dad, Poor Dad
to give you some more insight into where this crazy life is leading
you.
As for how much you should be making, dice.com or google will give you
that answer. I would guess depending on your skillset, sell-a-bility
you should be over 100. Rich Dad book talks about how one skill holds
most experts back. So evaluate yourself and maybe it's sales skills,
appearance, etc.
Hope this helps, congrats on your #'s. I'm getting mine soon enough!

I am a CCIE certified engineer working at Consulting engineer with the topmost(No prize for guessing) network company from last 5 years (having total 8 years experience). I came to US about a year back through intra-company transfer. Now my issues is that present company though is one of the best company to work for in networking industry but they are not paying me at level what experienced CCIE should be paid at(though a one of top most performer). Now I have few opportunities with some consulting companies in US who are ready to pay me 50-60% hike but these companies though good in consulting but not at that level my present company is.

So basically want comparison between salary level and company reputation.
