RPF check for PIM dense-mode over PtoP links

Hi All,

Is RPF check ignored for point-to-point interfaces running PIM dense-mode ?

I have a case where the mtrace fails due to RPF failure but pings go through
to the multicast destination.

Does PIM dense-mode behavior with regards to RPF-checks differ for
multicast control-plane and data-plane ?
