RE: Lines in IOS-XR

Hi Gaurav, the line default modify the default values of the console and
vty lines.

The console line is a template to override default values for console line
and the template line is used for override VTY lines default values..

Remember that you must enable telnet or ssh server to use vty lines.

Can someone please help me with how to configure the various VTY lines in XR
? I find that

1) console ,
2) default and
3) template

are the 3 options under line ..

Console : same as IOS .. Change the properties of line console

Ques 1 : If I do following :

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config)# *line template test*

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-line)# *exec-timeout 100 0*

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-line)# *width 100*

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-line)# *length 100*

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config-line)# *exit*

RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router(config)# *vty-pool default 0 4 line-template test*

I think i have applied the Template TEST to vty lines 0 to4

*What will following config achieve :*

line default

 password 7 1122324345354

 exec-timeout 60 0

 access-class ingress ABCDEF

 escape-character 0x1b

 session-timeout 90

!

 vty-pool default 0 20

Basically :

# what is line default ?
# Isn't there a funda of aux line here ?

Sorry for asking basic question .. Kind of confused in this simple XR config
