Foundation wise I used a combination of the CCSP official curriculum
(What you get when you take the cisco classes or work for a learning
partner), the online Docs and Yusuf Bhaiji's book. I also had several
years of experience doing almost solely ASA, IPS, MARS, router/switch
security, etc... as my day job.
For labs there was really no V3 lab material when I started. I took the
V3 lab on day 1 when it was released. I used what I saw (and subsequent
attempts) to write CCBOOTCAMP's advanced lab workbook along with Keith
Barker (who many on this list know).
It was a point of pride for me to not use other vendor's workbooks. That
doesn't mean I think they're bad, lots of people have good things to
say. But I wanted to use/tweak ours so that someone could legitimately
use them to pass and I am the guinea pig.
Final note-Does anyone know what happened to the Security list? Like
others I have seen no posts since it got spammed a few months ago?
