ipswitch used to make a very easy to use and cost easy as well product, i
have no idea what it costs these days, called whatsup gold...

i mostly use solarwinds, ciscoworks and HPOV all have healthy price tags and
in my opinion hte ciscoworks is way too bloated to really be useful for most
of the things that i want to see, solarwinds has alot of nice bells and
whistles with there addons but they all have a nice price tag, HPOV sort of
just dropped of the map for me quit doing alot of server type monitoring i
used to do with it but it was good at that...

lots of "free" tools out there on linux but you have to spend the time and
learn to support them with forums and local knowledge, which will probably
eat your free lunch pretty quick unless you have the expertise...
