Hi,
Unfortunately, there was no vendor support around for SPv3 but now INE
has opened the game and will launch a complete solution. Check out
their blog:
Regarding practice on IOS XR: Well, this can only be done via working
on the box (unless you work for Cisco and have access to the
simulators), unfortunately there are no cheap routers with XR. So you
can go for an old GSR and run it with XR, an ASR9k or a CRS-1.
However, as Brian from INE told, they will also provide rack rentals
which might be the cheapest solution if you do not have an XR box
which you can use.
I'm sure there are other vendors which will support SPv3 in future,
even those who said that they will never do it (what a funny
thing...cannot take these people seriously anymore...hehe).
We will see what happens. Personally I'm definitely looking forward to
see INE's offer!
regards
