The market doesn't sell as many lamborghinis either. Does that make me
want one any less? Nope. :)
A CCIE is a certification. A job wants skills. The two are not
necessarily equal. One may HELP indicate the other, but isn't the only
thing.
Do you want a CCIE just because you believe it will magically land you a
job? I'd say you are wasting your time for the wrong reasons then, and
you are destined for burnout! Or do you want the skills to do your job
better and/or land a better job, and the certification just happens to
be a demonstration of that skillset?
I can tell you that based on my Inbox, there is NO shortage of jobs for
CCIEs around the world. That being said, I don't think I've ever had
someone from Nigeria try to recruit me. So I really don't have specific
awareness about that area. But in other places there's LOTS going on!
And either way, I'll go back to my earlier question. Are you really
doing this ONLY because you believe there's a magical bag of gold out
there once you pass.
If that's the case, you'll get frustrated and fairly disappointed.
Rest assured there's plenty in the world to do!
