I think you are wrong here.

The purpose of affinity bits is to choose/not to choose the paths to tail
end while establishing tunnels. You can do this by using affinity and mask
bits.

The affinity you have configured on tunnel should match with the affinity
you configured on the interface. Then only this interface will be used
during SPF algorithm while establishing the tunnel.

Mask bits is to select which bits of affinity need to be used.
