QoS DSCP values

Are DSCP qos values automatically treated by the Cisco routers as per DSCP
traffic treatment. for example all traffic marked with DSCP EF, will the
router de-queue it first and give it priority queuing automattically or do
you have to configure the router with CBWFQ and explicitly put the EF
traffic into the priority queue. Are there any Router or Switches which do
this automatically or is this always a case of configuring it?
