Demand for CCIEs is still quite high and the population as misrepresented in
the post was done with the spin that author uses to slight Cisco which is
his trade mark. Anyone he works with like his staffing partner the subpar
training company owner are cut from the same cloth.
I have roles in Healthcare, Finance, Casino Gaming Industry, Cisco Reseller
roles and DoD. Most hiring for CCIEs is driven by certification needs but
the private and government sectors only target the CCIE because the cert
offers some relief from technical screening which is a shame because so many
very good network engineers choose not to certify.

You have to keep in mind who the author is....

Not exactly someone who has kept in good graces or played well with others
over the years. So there may be a little skew in how to interpret things.

Things have slowed in pace from a few years ago, but that's to be expected
with a recession. However, I certainly don't see any decline in the number
of recruiters who try to call nabbing well-qualified people, which means
there are still open jobs out there!

Despite the clouds moving around a lot, I have determined that the sky is
really not falling despite what Chicken Little says!
