Hey guys,
I am setting up a 7604 to replace a device and while I am working on it,
every time I reload it or power down it, it goes back to rommon and looses
config, no matter what confreg I have set. Then I found out the subject
error message during boot sequence:
%C7600_PLATFORM-SP-3-LOW_BATT: Low Voltage detected for NVRAM Battery
Which I understand means the NVRAM battery from the RSP-720 is dead (or
dying) and need to be replaced. I mean "I understand" because interestingly
enough you cannot find anything on the support tools (error message decoder,
etc) nor in the installation guides.
I replaced the original battery (BR-1225, not very easy to find around) and
when when it came up I still got the message, which makes me wonder if I
replaced the right one. Looking at the RSP from above, there's a BR-1225
battery on the upper section, close to a Flash card (you can see it here
http://twitpic.com/5l6x1e and http://twitpic.com/5l6x33) That was the only
battery visible. Is there any other that supposedly is the right one? Or
maybe there's a chance the new battery is so old it ran out of juice before
being used?
