I have the mid 2009 MBP 13", and it's great. I got the 13"
specifically because of its size and weight. I've since upgraded the
RAM from 4GB to 8GB -- well worth it. I agree with Mr. Sequeira,
though, go for 3rd party memory to save some bucks (I went with
Kingston). I've thought about upgrading to SSD storage but haven't got
around to it yet.

Unless you need the more powerful processor and better graphics
options in the 15" and 17", go for the 13".

If you're switching to OS X for the first time and you're comfortable
at a shell prompt, you'll love it.

As for a virtualisation product, I run Oracle VirtualBox. It's free,
and thus far I haven't found anything it can't do. I've also used
VMware Fusion extensively and it's solid, too.

I run a Windows 7 guest VM with stuff like Visio inside it. I agree
with the others; it's not ideal to run an app like that in a VM (and
with some clunky keyboard shortcuts req'd to get things done) but on
the whole it's an excellent combo.

Cheers,
Dale
