Okay, working on my multicast notes and I hit a command that for whatever
reason I can't grasp its exact purpose. Furthermore, I don't really
understand the difference between statically defining and using auto-rp
cache?
Router(config)# ip pim accept-rp {address | auto-rp} <acl>
- Address - Address of the RP
- Auto-RP - Messages are accepted only for RPs that are in the Auto-RP
cache.
- ACL - Optional, defines the groups that are allowed from the specified
RP.
Does anyone have a clear example using both options (static and auto-rp)?
Thanks!
