Hi Peter,

I agree with Joe. I'm studying for the R&S lab exam after re-taking the
written last Feb. I actually first took the written
back in 2008 but after two failed lab attempts, I decided to go back to the
drawing board. So you see, I have been trying
to get this done for a while now. I have had set backs and trying to balance
time with my wife and kids. I had to take a
two week vacation because my sister-in-law was getting married and I had the
duty or Master of Ceremonies. You know what
since I have come back I'm more ravenous than ever to nail this thing. If I
don't understand something, I follow the advice of a
good friend of mine who is a CCIE and has been for many years. He always
says that if you have a problem, get up and go away.
Come back later and then take a look at it. Once I have done this, it's like
a puzzle that has just been made clear in front of me. I
have a long way to go but I have started to really understand the
technologies by reading and labbing up what I have learned.
I can truly tell you that it will stick with you once you have played and
done the show/debug commands. Another thing that might
be causing these issues is not taking regular breaks.

I know I'm almost there. Don't give up my friend. Guys like Joe and all the
other pros give up their time to help us on our way.
They want to help us get there. I for one am grateful. Lets not let them
down. We need to continue the fight so that we can earn the right to have
that number and then we can help others who struggle later.

Byron
