I disagree...the CCIE can substitute as a pre requisite. I would just save your cash and take the CCIE written early. Two reasons: one you save money and two...if you don't pass you have another month to retake and avoid decertification issues.

I would worry about your CCIE first then then the rest later. I recertified with the CCDE written in December and it kicked me up 3 years along with my professional certs. I personally take a written exam every year to avoid any issues, it's cheap insurance and keeps me learning.
