Hi Carlos,
I have to agree that it's a pretty rude to make such a short and sharp
request without mentioning what if anything has been done, what routing
protocol experience Tapas has (while OSPF and IS-IS have a fair number of
differences there are many similarities) and what level of knowledge is
required.
That said, going through ISO 10589 is not a fun thing to do, so other
resources are probably worth looking at if you don't want to get completely
discouraged.
These are some of the books that I have on my shelf that talk about IS-IS
that I would probably suggest looking at in order.
1) Doyle's Routing TCP/IP Volume 1 which should be on any aspiring network
engineers bookshelf has a chapter on integrated IS-IS which may be enough
for the concepts to be grasped
2) Troubleshooting IP Routing Protocols has a section on IS-IS as well.
3) Doyle's more recent OSPF and IS-IS: Choosing an IGP for Large-Scale
Networks goes into a lot more depth comparing IS-IS and OSPF helping to give
network designers information to help select which IGP to use for larger
networks giving config examples for IOS and JunOS (I'll give you a spoiler
here the last page doesnt actually pick one protocol or the other)
4) Martey's IS-IS Network Design Solutions which may help in practical
concerns for deployment and if you just want a book abour imlementing IS-IS
I guess this is not a bad choice (I ranked this lower than the others
because I think the first two books really are good additions to any network
persons arsenal of information and should probably be considered before
looking at spending any more money)
Cheers,
Adam
