If its via port-security I believe in the log it will tell you if
there has been a MAC address violation. You can verify this against
your current arp table, trace out the MAC address of the newly
connected device and see what is now connected, etc.. this is how I've
done it in the past for port-security violations.

Like Ziyad said, need to check and see what features you have enabled.
