This thread should be a lesson on something that has been repeated many times: there is not a one size fits all strategy for the lab. What works for one person might not work so well for others. Knowing the options available and testing them out is going to help you out.

I believe that the input from the various viewpoints illustrates this well.

If you agree with someone's advice, great, if you do not agree, great, they are just tips to try and help.
