interesting find, i didnt see anything about a restriction but it is any
sub-interface on my router (C3725-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M), Version 12.4(15)T12

i wonder what would be the point of this restriction at the sub interface
level?

Router(config)#int s0/0
Router(config-if)#ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  leak-map Allow dynamic prefixes based on the leak-map
  <cr>

Router(config)#int s0/0.1
Router(config-subif)# ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  <cr>

Router(config-subif)#int f0/0
Router(config-if)#ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  leak-map Allow dynamic prefixes based on the leak-map
  <cr>

Router(config-if)#int f0/0.1
Router(config-subif)#ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  <cr>

Router(config-subif)#int s0/0
Router(config-if)#encapsulation frame-relay
Router(config-if)#ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  leak-map Allow dynamic prefixes based on the leak-map
  <cr>

Router(config)#int s0/0.1 point-to-point
Router(config-subif)# ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  <cr>

Router(config)#int s0/0.10 multipoint
Router(config-subif)# ip summary-address eigrp 1 1.1.1.1 0.0.0.0 ?
  <1-255> Administrative distance
  <cr>
