RE: CCCIE Validiation Period

Dear All,

I have a problem or a confusion point and i hope if someone could clarify it to me:

Lets Assume the below case which is my old written will expire the next month and i will do a new ccie written...ok

It also Available to me to go on cisco Site and schedule a lab date on Jun but we all know that when you schedule a lab you put your written score and date...
So in this Case Lets Assume i want schedule wiz my current ccie written date and score until i re take the new written exam...so that i can book a seat and renew the period..can i do that..
or i have to wait to get the new written exam and put its date and score to book a date in Jun
This is really confusing me

Its true, but a lot of your value in the partner community is reduced in that year of suspended limbo. You cant be used to Silver or Gold until your active
 again.

I was reading recently that a ccie cert actually won't be expired until 3 years.... Something about 2 years to recert, and then one more additional year while your ccie number sits in an inactive status. True?

The trick here is that yes, the written only recertifies your CCIE for two years(once you pass the lab). However, since Professional certs have 3 year shelf lives, and the CCIE Written exams count as a recertification event, they renew
 the full Professional shelf life, the full 3 years.

Yes if you pass written, all professional and associate and entry level certs are refreshed for I believe another 3 years. Furthermore, as I recall, even any 642-xxx series exam will recertify all pro, associate, and entry level certs, EVEN IF the 642 exam
 you pass is in a different track then the cert you currently posses.... This is how I understood it from a while ago, and I believe it worked that way for me when I passed a 642 voice (ccvp track) exam and it surprisingly refreshed my other pro and associate
 type certs

Check with cisco cert support to make sure though of current policies
