I agree with Narbik completely regarding the emulator for IOS XR. If
the same thing happened to the RS exam with the 6500's and sup720 vss
then they would financially put the CCIE equipment out of reach for self
study candidates thus shooting themselves in the foot if they do not
release an emulator/simulator fully capable of covering all technologies
found in the lab blueprint.
When the new SP track goes in affect the number of CCIE SP's will
obviously decline sharply as very few companies rent out Cisco XR12000
Series Routers and when they do the price to rent a rack with an XR12000
Series router(s) will be fairly expensive due to the price of the
router(s).
Also requiring the CCIE lab exam for re-certification is just stupid.
It's hard enough to pass as it is not to mention the stress it can put
on many candidates financial portfolio and relationship/marriages/social
life while initially trying to obtain the certification.
