Lab charge handling

I'm hoping someone can send me some reassurance here.

I scheduled my lab and paid with a CC. My concern is that with all the
anti-fraud protections that the CC use, it's possible that anything
could happen. Since the lab is about a month out, I had to book the
airline and hotel reservations already. The portal has been showing
"Pending Approval" for over a week.

1.) Is this normal?
2.) If they have an issue processing payment, will they call to
reconcile or will they just cancel my seat?

This crap is hard enough without the logistical challenges this system
is imposing.
