Group,
I'm wondering about acceptable uplink/downlink ratios for internet
connectivity services.
For TCP to be effective, and to use a larger window size, it requires enough
BW to acknowledge received segments.
What would be a minimal uplink/downlink ratio to ensure TCP uses the full
downlink BW?
Typically DSL used to be about 25-30% in uplink/downlink ratio and now ISPs
are pushing services to 6-10%.
I'm wondering if ISPs are not selling "hot air" since TCP will not be able
to utilize the full BW with such a low ratio...
Thanks for your thoughts...
