I mis-understood your actual question. As a few have mentioned, you won't
see those increment unless policy routing.

This is what I figured was happening ... does the connected routes show up
in your protocol you're trying to distribute from??

ex ospf -> eigrp ..... do the connected routes show up in ospf ?? :)
