this topic has been beaten to death in the past. look in old archive and
they all there :)

however, the conclusion was - open source options and commercial.
in open source try Jperf - it gives you nice GUI and traffic graphing
option.
if you're testing apache or web server just use Apache benchmark testing
tool.
