Re: Multiple Written exams

So the six-month thing is a minimum spacing between sitting - and
passing - the exact same exam number. So if I was much smarter than I
am, I could sit the R&S one day and SP the next; no problems there at
all (policy-wise). I just can't sit the R&S written again for six
months after receiving a passing score. This actually kinda screwed
me once because I was almost but not quite eligible to recertify my
R&S when I sat that beta. The exam number was 351-001 so I thought I
could still sit the non-beta once I entered my next two-year recert
cycle a month or two down the line. However, I passed the beta and
they went in after-the-fact and actually changed the exam number under
my profile to 350-001, leaving me ineligible to recertify via R&S
written for six months. No big deal but I was all studied up and
ready to go. Shouldn't have sat for that darned beta is the lesson I
learnt.

I think under old policy there was a way to sit the exam twice in
rapid succession and get a four-year certification period but the
current policy (unless something has changed very, very recently) is
pretty much as I described - no less and no more than once per two-
year block staring on the day you pass the lab. You can get a four-
year period by sitting the written right after passing the lab and you
can get a four-year period by passing a written just as soon as you
enter into your next eligibility period. But those are about the only
two ways to go about it via writtens as far as I know...
