Connecting Dual CE routers to Dual customer access switches

 Hi All

What is the best design to connect dual CE routers to dual customer switches
in the most resilient/redundant design

The options I can think of are

 1) a single L2 link down from each router to each switch with a L2 trunk
between switches, with HSRP running between routers

2) dual L3 links from each router
       - from router 1 to switch 1 and from router 1 to switch 2
       - from router 2 to switch 1 and from router 2 to switch 2
  run IGP on these links and have a L2 trunk between the two switches.

Please can someone advise what is the best way of doing this for maximum
redundancy.
