Hi Everyone,

I took the CCIE Security lab on last Friday in Hong Kong and found out that
I passed.
Officially making me a triple CCIE :-D I can't describe how happy I am at
the moment.

My journey began in 2009 which I waited for changing the blueprint from
version 2.0 to
3.0 due to I want to study in the new Cisco security technology.CCIE study
is very
difficult to your life (no more time to study) if you have a wife and will
delivery of birth
for my sons (twin). (^_^)

For preparation I used the Cisco Press as below

Cisco Press - Cisco ASA All-in-One Firewall, IPS, and VPN Adaptive Security
Appliance
Cisco Press - Cisco ASA And PIX Firewall Handbook
Cisco Press - Cisco Access Control Security; AAA Administrative Services
Cisco Press - Network Security Technologies and Solutions
Cisco Press - CCIE Security v3.0 Cert Flash Cards Online
Cisco Press - CCIE Security v3.0 Configuration Practice Labs Second Edition

I also use the excellence INE and IPexpert Workbooks for my preparation. I
practice
twice time for INE workbook volume 2 by using all of my simulators

1. Dynamips - Router, Switch
2. Pemu - PIX
3. Qemu - ASA, IPS v6.1
4. VMware - IPS version 5.1, Cisco Secure ACS, Test PC

I would like to borrow Rick Mur quote in IPexpert blog

"As of labs, try doing everything that is on the blueprint. If you master
all the topics
you can go to the lab and FLY through it. The advantage of the blueprint is
that it really
tells you what to do and mentions actual technologies and features that you
can try."

I think study technology and understand throughly are very important. I
think Volume 1
for INE and IPexpert are essential part. You need to know how to configure,
verify and
TROUBLESHOOTING. You need to be aware and prepare if your configuration
doesn't
work. You must have work around in that case. In my point of view, CCIE
Security track
has a lot of bug.

I just want to say a special thank you to all the following, some of who
don't even know
me but unknowingly have helped me through a reply to my postings, past
posting, blog.

I'd like to special thank to my friend Wittawat Hemwannanurak to allow me to
borrow
his server, Toyos Yooyen for great suggest and how to prepare for CCIE
Security lab,
Petr Lapukhov, Keith Barker, Brian Mcgahan and excellence workbook from
INE,
Tyson Scott and excellence workbook from IPexpert, for making this effort
possible
through arrangements and success.

Finally, I would like to give special thank to my wife and family for
love, patient and
understand me.

Warmest Regards,
Pipatpong Samranpit
