CCIE Lab Preparation using GNS3 - 4 switches against 2 switches

Hi,

All over internet it is a knows fact that to build up a CCIE Lab four
switches (2x3550-24 ports & 2x3560-24 ports) are required

I am still at the beginning of practicing different workbooks and have not
that much details as to how will the switches be used. I was thinking that
instead of buying 2 of each 3550 and 3560 switches with 24ports, if I buy 1
of each switch model but with 48 ports. Will this be okay to do the labs as
total port count is same or do we actually require for separate switches to
perform the labs properly?

Please clarify this confusion
