Hi all
I have just noticed that we have in The life network that we have
several ASR1004 that is configured for ospf NSF and bgp graceful
restart. However this chassis as you know comes with one rp and what
makes it worst I think that all systems configured as a simplex non
redundant. I would like to recommend configuring the system as dual
iosd in order to have the benefit of graceful restart and NSF on a
single RP otherwise this configs will be useless if I am correct.
Question
1- does it make any sense to have graceful restart and NSF sso with a
simplex mode non redundant rp ?
2- is there any issue with dual iosd mode that will make decesion of
keeping the simplex mode worth it
3- if I m upgrading from simplex mode to dual iosd mode on a change
window. I guess I'm expecting a service impact for how long
4- could switching mode to iosd could lead to a disaster after
booting the router in modular fashion or what's the worst I should
expect ?
Your response is greatly appreciated
Cheers
Bert
