Mike,
What version of windows XP are you using? b&64 bit or 32 bit? I used
64 bit
windows XP with dynamip and dynagen (no way for GNS3) with 4 instance
(each
instance 3-5 routers) and I can able to run full lab without any issue.
(with
OSPF, BGP, Multicast). It wont go more than 60 - 80% CPU utilization.
From my
experience use 64-bit windows XP OS. If you want to run more routers
then split
your instance between PCs.
my PC config was dual core with 4GB
RAM. I remember 32-bit OS wont support more
than 3GB RAM

I strongly
recommend windows XP 64 bit for dynamic. In Apple Mac there is no way
to
emulate ASA. so better stay with windows. just my thoughts :-)
