There is functional use of route name. It is the username on radius
server with info about how to call remote router that should receive
traffic for address space covered by the route, in dial-out environment.
For example, if your router has
!
ip route 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 dialer1 name remote-router
!
interface dialer1
...
dialer aaa password outgoing-password
!
then you can create following user on CiscoSecure ACS server
username: remote-router
password: outgoing-password
cisco-av-pair = outbound:dial-number=14081234567
where attribute define phone number that should be called to reach
remote location.
OK? Now you can create outgoing profiles for each remote location, and
remove that info from dialers, eg you don't have to have dialer for each
remote location.
There's even more. You don't have to have static routes configured on
routers. They can be also be placed in radius server, and dial router(s)
can be configured to download routes from radius server:
aaa configuration route username router-name password 0 router-pass
aaa route download 60 authorization default
And now configure users on radius
router-name-1, router-name-2, ... where each username can hold up to 50
routes:
cisco-av-pair = ip:route=10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0 Dialer1 name remote-router
Hope this helps.
