RE: New CCIE Service Provider Blueprint

Flourishing? That really depends on the demand for the track and how
much $$ it will cost per rack. Kind of like the CCIE Wireless and the
CCIE storage. There's not a whole lot of options out there for them
because the equipment is so expensive and the CCIE tract itself isn't as
popular.

There will be rental labs flourishing for SP track. I don't think Cisco
cares much about personal labs etc. There wil be hardware refreshes for
RS and Security in the future, let along wireless and voice: they can't
stay the same forever. Dynamips has passed the peak of its glory and
this pendulum is swinging to an opposite direction (as it always does
once in a while).

So abandon the hope, get real, go rent. :-) Seriously, for many of us
who has families and kids, spare time for studies is a limited quantity.

6 years ago I was happy working after-hours, building my real lab from
left-overs and tuning Dynamips and PEMU on multi-cpu Linux servers which
were idling during night shifts.

Now I go rent say Security 3.0 POD, a 3-hr slot 3 times a week, 4 AUD
per hour, and have no concerns. :-)

Sorry for getting slightly OT, my point is, it is not that bad. It is a
lot of good in those HW refreshes, it keeps certification at the edge..
