local SPAN and promiscuous mode

Hi,

I have enabled local span on a 6509 switch and discovered that unintended
unicast traffic are received on the destination port.

My understanding is that this will only happen in Hub not a switch. Am i
wrong on this? The capture was using wireshark with promiscuous mode on.

Operational mode : Centralized
Configured mode : Centralized (default)
