In a switch, you use vlan as layer 3 interface when configure routing. So
"int vlan" command.
You could use switchport as layer 3 interfaces provided you use the "no
switchport" command.
In a router, the fastethernet ports are default to be layer3 interfaces so
you use "int fa" command.
