I documented my thoughts here:
http://blog.ine.com/2010/02/07/obtain-your-ccie-and-save-a-tree/
Since then - I did try an iPad for reading...I set the backlight real dim and it was not as painful as I thought it would be.
I still could not have done it at the beach, however.
BTW - before the DX - I had the small form factor Kindle and I did not find the screen size to be overly annoying. Why I migrated was at the time my small Kindle had no native PDF support. That was unacceptable.

Subject: 6 Inch kindle any good for reading technical ebooks?
Just curious, the small Kindle WiFi is priced fairly now, and I'm curious if
any of you are using it successfully to study. I'm a bit wary as the small
screen size might make it difficult to see a diagram, or read much more than
a paragraph in a Ciscopress book. I'm also looking at the DX, which IMO is
still very unfairly priced, and lastly the Ipad.
I've heard the Ipad is a bit heavy to hold and read like a book. The touch
screen just rocks for turning pages, and zooming in, but, I'm leaning
towards something more purpose built for the job, and cheaper. The Ipad is
an expensive toy to break.
I'm curious of any reviews or opinions you guys might have.
