Hello all,
I have a question on what the best practice is on configuring a port
for voice. I have see 2 different configs and am told by different
people that this is the way its suppose to be done. Please provide
pro's and cons for both. In whaT case is VLAN hoping more likely. Does
the command switchport voice detect cisco-phone help in preventing
vlan hopping?
Thanks
Method 1:
interface GigabitEthernet0/1
 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
 switchport trunk native vlan 50
 switchport mode trunk
 switchport voice vlan 80
 snmp trap mac-notification change added
 no mdix auto
 storm-control unicast level pps 10k 9.5k
 storm-control action trap
 spanning-tree portfast trunk
Method 2:
interface GigabitEthernet0/5
  switchport access vlan 50
 switchport mode access
 switchport voice vlan 80
 snmp trap mac-notification change added
 no mdix auto
 storm-control unicast level pps 10k 9.5k
 storm-control action trap
 spanning-tree portfast
