Private VLAN

In a private VLAN scenerio I have 3 routers connected to 1 switch.
VLAN 40 - Primary
VLAN 41 - Isolated

R1 and R2 are in vlan 41

R3 is in vlan 40...the promiscuous devil that he is.

I have RIP running and of course a split horizon issue results where R1 can
not receive R2 routes..etc.
R3 has R1s and R2s routes.

To me this is very similar to the Frame Relay spoke to spoke issue so I used
a static ARP entry on R1 and R2.
On R1, I mapped R2s IP address to R3s mac address.
On R2, I mapped R1s IP address to R3s mac address.

Everything works great.

I suppose a GRE would work also.

Is there another method to solve this?

Thanks,

Chris
