Ur serial int on R6 shuld be on d 54.1.2.0/24 subnet, thats why its would shw dat other IPs like 54.1.3.254 are in uncommon subnets. Its working well, am sure ur not gettin d error message 4 d IP u need (54.1.2.254) look closely.
