RE: IGP Redistribution

In the actual exam, optimal pathing is not necessarily a requirement. Be sure to read the tasks VERY carefully to see if anything is required regarding pathing. It could be explicitly stated or implicitly hinted at.

Without having access to the actual task at this moment, I would suggest to examine the topology again very carefully to see if that link failing does indeed break some design element. For example, perhaps a single interface participates in Area 0 somewhere and the loss of the link creates an OSPF discontiguous backbone. It could be tough to catch this if it is only a single remote Area 0 interface.

Subject: IGP Redistribution

Hi,

Unable to understand a task of INE VER 4.1 lab 2 task no 4.11. It is asking
to redistribute at several ends, in solution it has changed the AD and
metric of some traffic due to suboptimal path.
In exam, all path should be optimal ???

This task also says Ensure that full reachability is maintained throughout
the IGP domain
when the Frame Relay circuit between R3 and R5 is down.

i did not change any metric and AD of any route, after shutting down R5
interface to R3, full reachability is maintained, could any one make me
understand this point.
