You cannot boot an ASA in gns3 with just the cisco binary. You will need the
initrd and kernel packed files. Qemu loads up one (linux) and then you can run
the ASA software (lina). Make sure you get the right files though - some boot
but don't run right including no connectivity or no ability to configure.

I understand GNS3 has some compatibility issues with Windows 7. I'm not
quite sure about this one, yet I'd strongly recommend that you take a peek
at and even post a copy of your question to http://7200emu.hacki.at/ . It's
very likely that you get a technical response from the guys who're actually
involved in the project in this regard.
