Bert,
I haven't done this for a while but the whole process is pretty
straightforward as you use the "no power enable" on your CSM and the "svclc
vlan-group' command on the ACE module. You know of that conversion tool so
no need to mention but it does work in many "straightforward" cases.
Here are my recommendations:
1- If you do have access to some more gear run a test lab before hand.
2- For the upgrade process and even on the "go live" day, get Cisco TAC
involved. Open up a case and explain that you're seeking assistance to
implement the safest migration plan.
3- Play around with the conversion tool and see if you see any "odd"
translated stuff. I do understand that it's not that easy to detect when you
don't have access to the boxes.
4- As you certainly know there is a huge difference between a clean
installation and upgrade; during an upgrade sometime things go as we don't
expect. Although some factor like the importance of your account might be
involved but "usually", TAC can assign an engineer to stay on line or drive
the process.
