It all depends on the passport you carry.Some (mostly western citizens) do
not require a pre-approved visa yet many countries including the sub-con
have to apply beforehand AFAIK.

To be on the safe side give their embassy a call; you can easily get it
using a letter to be provided by Cisco (if your question is about CCIE
though!). If you do need a visa I'd kick off the process well before the
exam day.
