RE: OT: 3750X stacking question

I prefer to setup the stack priority for each switch and then make the
switch number match the physical order in the stack so I know exactly which
switch is which without having to cross reference serial numbers or mac
addresses to the ones pasted on the switch. It's a pain at first to get the
switch numbers to match but once it's done you have a nice setup. I also
like having the uplinks spread over the first top two switches. I would make
the top switch switch 1 with priority 15 and the next one down switch 2 with
priority 14 and have the uplinks coming off those two switches.

It works regardless of which switch is master and which is the next lower
switch priority. I just like making it more deterministic. Also makes it
easy to know which switch to swap out during a failure.

Usama,

I don't think it really matters but for management and configuration wise,
it might be helpful to use the top two for Stack Master(s) as they are
easily accessible for stack identification, if you're labeling the switches
with hostnames and IPs.
