Hey kid,
IP classless must be enabled to inform the router to forward a packet to
classlessly and shed off the classful behaviour

Lets take an example

R1 has three routes in its routing table like

D 10.1.3.0/24
R 10.1.2.0/24
D 10.1.4.0/24
S* 0.0.0.0/0

and if ip classless is disabled
and when a packet comes in for destination 10.1.5.0/24 it will be dropped
It doesn't choose the default route because some part of the major network
is present and the remaining part is no there ,like 10.1.0.0/24 subnet is
present but 10.1.50./24 so here is the classful behaviour of the router
comes into picture

so if ip classless command is enbaled ,router chosses the defualt route for
the destination 10.1.5.0/24 network

have ur doubts got cleared try labbin it up kid
have sum more doubts pls unicast me no probs
be clear of the concept and do a lab to check whether it is working properly
