That is 100% on the spot. I always tell students in my classes that
the lab is a puzzle, but the one in which Cisco first gives you
cardboard, scissors and bucket of paint. You are then told to build
puzzle pieces and reassemble them back to match the picture.

Unless you understand individual puzzle pieces (i.e. technologies
covered in our Volume 1, for example), you are simply not ready to
take on the challenge of the lab.

Doing individual technology labs is *the* most important part of the
preparation for the lab.
